TVRCC Vs Pistonheads

I'm back on PistonHeads this week after last visiting around October/November last year. Simply because work is a little quieter at the moment give me a chance to look in here, but am now an advid fan of the TVRCC forums.
I guess there is a bit more non-TVR related stuff here - even the the TVR forums which is what I visit - to broaden the spectrum a little. I do however prefer the more TVR related stuff on the TVRCC site.

I have been a critic of the TVRCC site in the past but I have to say that it has improved greatly in the past seven or eight months (since I started posting there in fact 
).
I actually use it more than PH now for TVR related stuff as there is not the destructive attitude towards TVR on there which is now, regrettably, prevalent on these forums. Everyone is friendly and keen to help and if more members use it then the usefulness of the site will increase.
I do agree about the password / login thing though. It should be possible to have a sit where members simply use their own login and password, as they do here.

As for the password thing, I never have trouble - it always remembers me?

Since the new chairman took over, there has been a slight change of direction... including TVRCC Committee posting here, and even advertising on PH.

I did suggest a while back Pod that members used their membership no.s as their id and each had a unique password. That way lapsed members and tardy payers could be blocked electronically from the "members only" part of the site..

A bit unfair guys.
Some ppl at the TVRCC would have a cardiac arrest if they saw me defending their site but..
If you have a technical or TVR specific issue then I think you will find that a posting on the TVRCC website will elicit sympathetic and informed responses and.. you will not have to wade through a lot of gormless posts from nay sayers and general slaggers off that you do on here.
Also if the members would use the site for posting (maybe post on here and on there which some do) then more traffic would be forthcoming. Kind of a self fulfilling phophesy?

The 'login' system is under review and has been for sometime - we know we need to get the balance right between making it easy for members and not allowing non-memebers easy access, especially to sections such as members benefits which lists the discounts available.

It's coming Paul, it's coming. I had a lengthy email today detailing how technically we can link the membership database to the website. Watch the Club site for details over the next couple of montha or so.

It's not so much the new Chairman so much as the fact that in the past 12-15 months, a number of new committee members have been elected who were/are PH regulars. We had decided to advertise on PH last year buit it took a number of months to sort out the banners etc.
I personally think the two sites complement each other quite well.
