sounds more like AFMs to me , but I`m no expert.
I do think the tp gets the blame for any poor running but my understanding is its only symptom would be irregular throttle response not major loss of power. This is only how i interpreted how the guy who sorted mine explained it to me.

I had this problem a while ago - turned out to be the AFMs but then total coincidence the TP went next day - basically if you disconnect the TP and go for a run and it has cleared up then that is the problem - doing this puts the car into a sort of safe get home mode - your idle may be higher and you will use more fuel but the hiccuping should cease.
The same can be done with the AFMs but you must only disconnect them one at a time to determine which is / may be faulty.
If it turns out to be your AFMs and you can't source locally then mail me through my profile as there is a huge ford used spares place near me in Newcastle where I got my replacement set from and the guys there really know their stuff as they are all into racing various Fords.
Best of luck

Quicko ,Trafford Park Manchester, had them the other week you get 3 parts in the kit now, pot+goldpin connector and the 3rd item is 3no crimps to fit the new loom to the old,I would solder it because if it needs Gold plated terminal pins it will need a better connection on the join than those crimps will give.
