For your enjoyment... I had the pleasure of driving an '06 Z06 with DOT slicks at the track today. It was remarkable...and the fastest car on the track at every spot on the track. Now I have an idea what the GTR will feel like, but almost 1,000 lighter!!!

The rear tires on this Z06 were 335 Hoosiers...same as the Ultima.

They will only last 500 miles depending on how you drive. Some guys with Vettes get 8 track days out of a set; others, less than one! Track temperature, inflation, alignment, and driving style make a big difference. The Ultima is quite a bit lighter, so they might last longer for us.

As to miles, an average track session around here is 20 or 30 minutes. Today, each run group got seven 20-minute sessions, or 2.3 hours of flying down the track. WoooHooo! The course configuration was just over three miles and we turned 8-10 laps per session, so figure about 30 miles per session. That comes out to a little over 200 miles per day. If you are the guy getting 8 track days...about 1,600 miles.
