Anyone taken their Tiv round the 'ring?
Just thinking about going over but the 'official' website says a strict 95db noise limit is in place.

Has anyone been refused access due to loud zorsts??

Took my Chim there last year with a sleeved silencer, it sounded lovely and was bloody loud. Did a few sighting laps on the Saturday evening and about 10 laps on Sunday and there didn't seem to be any noise checks or restrictions in place.
I've since refitted the standard system though because it left my ears ringing after a long journey. Andy

Just been over a couple of weeks ago, in my Chim 450, without any silencers at all. I was worried about the 95 db too, but had no problem getting on the track. Lovely noise, and huge fun. Go!!!! Just watch out for the motorcyclists coming at you from nowhere.

Some of the local racing M3s etc. are not exactly shy either, so you won't stand out too much. For the noise at least

Are there any organised trips anyone can recommend since i would like to go but most of my mates can think of 100 reasons why they would like to go but wont..?

If a car goes to the ticket stand/entrance and sounds excessively loud they will check it - saw this once last May.
Keep your foot off the throttle and the noise down until you get out of the gate and down the track.

A group of us have been over every year for the last 6 years and theres usually one or two TVRs in the party.

I've taken a Griff and Tuscans and theres also been a T350 and a Chimera.

The only time any of us even been checked was last year when one of the 'monster' kit cars (which has an ex-tuscan race car heart) and which has never had a problem before was stopped at the gate - but then it had been subject to some exhaust modifications during the off season which increased the decibel level considerably! Stick with the advice above, keep it quiet(!) until you're through the gate - then enjoy!

I don't know of any "organised" trips you can buy off the shelf but you're welcome to tag along with our little group if you want Nick.
Looking at August/September, dates to be finalised.
