TVR specialist offers three-tier menu

Low car usage saves servicing costs

Silverstone Performance -- once Silverstone TVR -- has come up with a three-tier service menu to offer customers what it calls a means of controlling expenditure not just by picking the lowest price but by picking the right level of service.

SP reckons its standard TVR service goes a bit further than the manufacturer schedule. It describes it as keenly priced but, for low mileage users, a low mileage service has been introduced that can save about £200 a hit. At the other end of the scale, a full motorsport-style service goes further than ordinary servicing to keep on top of hard-driven and regularly tracked cars.

The idea behind the new service menu range is to meet the demands of different car usage without compromising the integrity of the car or warranty stipulations.

A typical annual service price for a low-mileage Rover-engined car is £294.95, and £375.95 for a low-mileage Speed Six, while a Motorsport service will cost almost double that.

Because SP now has an in-house MOT station, all services this year will include a free MOT test.

I know where I'll be going after the three year warranty ends as the Silverstone crew have always treated me fairly and honestly. Until then I have to go to an official dealer for service to ensure warranty work is undertaking. Only two years to go!

Had dealings with SP last weekend - suitably impressed and as they are only 5 miles from my house will be using them in future - as long as the price is right ;-)

Hello "Silly old Mr Sceptic"

Our service pricing is about value and needs (we are not cheap). The "low" pricing is achieved by reducing the amount of work carried out according to what we think low mileage cars need. The free MOT applies because we now have our own in-house MOT facility and much of the service checks are covered within the MOT.

We are no longer a franchise dealer because we were shafted by TVR. But that doesn't stop us from loving the cars, and we're quite fond of you lot too
