S3C Tyre size and make

Need to replace the tyres on my S3C and wondered whether one could fit 205/55 ZR15 instead on 205/60 ZR15. Any comments?
Also any thoughts and recommendations on tyre make - have considered Toyo Proxy T-1R?

the main thing is you car sits a lot lower on the 55 and can ground easily i have lost count of the amount of exhaust clamps i have gone through

Posted a similar message a couple of weeks ago, and Bridgestones came highly recomended from several users.

I currently run on 55 profile but am always grounding out ( the systym is S/s by peninsular and does hang low ) so will be going for 60 profile this time, which was the original spec. If you are intending to do track days and drive hard on twistys the 55's might be better for you.
I still havn't bought the 4 I need so will be interested to see what this thread produces.

Bridgestone RE720

in 205/60/15

205/55 will be at least 3% smaller in rolling radius.
Probably 225/55 is nearer but maybe a little wide for 7J rims?

I have had the CF1's fitted on mine now, only done a couple of hundred miles on em and most of that was in the wet so can't give a true opinion on them but no probs so far.

I think I will go for the 60 profile then since the exhaust system is about 5 cm from the ground...
I may go for Eagle F1s instead of T1-Rs. Cannot get T1-Rs here in Sweden so easily I discovered.
Any experience with F1s on an S3C anyone?

After a lot of time on the telephone it seems that F1s and T1Rs are not available in that profile.
The only tyres I could find were Toyo Proxy CF1s or Goodyear recommended Hydragrip.
I also considered RE720s, but again cannot find them here in Sweden. Is there a good website for buying tyres?

I have just been quoted £65 a corner plus VAT inc fitting etc for Bridgestones 720's. How does that sound ?

Thanks - I have now found the equivalent swedish site www.dackonline.se and ordered Potenza RE720s 205/60-15V for approx £60 (without fitting).
Looking forward to testing the car (Also found CF1s for around £45s)
Interested to hear of what people think of CF1s vs RE720s.

Another alternative is Dunlop Sport SP01, I have these fitted and am very happy. I think they cost around £50 each

Bummer, got a flat on the way home tonite, missed first half of match as I had to drive 2 miles down country lanes until I found somewhere safe to change tyre.

Ended up ruining tyre so have just ordered 2 RE720 205/60/15's for £46.50 each inc VAT and delivery from mytyres.co.uk

Excellent tyres and no more scraping after going from 55's
