I've had a couple of GT3's in the past - a mark 1 and then a mark 2 - and have recently bought a mark 1 again. I don't use it much for trackdays, just occasionally as I'm mainly doing bike days

I don't ever remember a noise problem on track days before, but the car essentially failed the noise test ( logged as 99.9 db so that I could get on)

surely thats a bit noisy? car is standard as far as I'm aware

Interesting indeed!!!! My standard MK1 usually gets through the Bedford noise test without any problems at all. Last time around(2 weeks ago) it was a borderline failure. Not sure whether wind and atmospherics played any part.

Weather plays a huge factor in sound tests. I have measured between 100db and 103db on a static test, but most frequently around 102db. Bedford will fail you above 101db static, but their main measurement is the driveby... IIRC it's 87db taken from a mic 20ft from the edge of the track. Thankfully, I've gone full throttle past the short back section straight where the mic is located and have never tripped the meter...

edited to add: BTW, I've got PSE on mine...

mine always seems to clock about 105 at goodwood...i obviously need a new exhaust... the goodwood guys reckon all GT3s are about that. Never had a problem at bedford though.
