My nephew has what I believe to be an imported non-turbo automatic Supra IV ‘M’ reg. No drivers’ manual came with the car so there are some bits we can’t understand.

Two switches near the auto gear leaver, one black with the letters ‘MANU’ and one red with Jap hieroglyphics. Anyone know what these are for?

We have also found that kick-down doesn’t always work. It appears to work via a floor mounted switch. Is there a common fault or easy fix for this?

One of the switches is probably to allow you to move the gear lever out of park without the engine running.

Useful if you're pulling the dash board apart.

A friend of mine had an imported Celica GT-R and it took us a few days to work that out...
