Insurance time again...
Discussion
The insurance on the Tiv is due for renewal next week and I should really get some quotes rather than just renew it straight off. Does anyone have any recommendations as to who's hot and who's not currently ? And, if it 'aint too cheeky, roughly what is everyone paying these days ?
Me - late thirties, full no claims, no accidents or convictions. Tiv - garaged overnight & limited to 5k per annum.

Morning,
I have my S3 insured through RH Specialist car division. I'm 39, and have paid £229 fully comp'. This is based on 5000 miles P.A. and an excess of £150. You also get inclusive breakdown cover for this price.... If you want to give them a call you can reach them on: 01277 206911.
Cheers,
IanM

Give Hagerty at try on 08700 420220. They gave me a quote for renewal next month which was less than half of everyones else's. One of the chaps there is an ex-owner and PHer - moosetvr.
I was quoted £380 for 5000 miles, garaged with £100 excess. I'm 24 with a clean license and no accident history.

Call Simon Williams on 01278 427 127. Can't honestly remember what he quoted me, but IIRC its the same for a V8S a year after an accident as it was with a S3C before. He's got my brothers Griffith insured too; beat all others we tried by a long way. You get to speak to the guy that sorts the deal, and hes a real petrolhead too. Definately worth a call..
ianm - nice one mate
Fully comp on a 5k limited mileage policy, me and Mrs named drivers, 150 damage xs, 50 windscreen xs, yada yada yada... Less than 200 quid. Very happy..
Psychobert - Simon says hello and was asking after the V8S and your bro's Griff. Nice guy - we spent more time talking cars than sorting out the quote
He came close on the premium but even he commented that the RH quote was going to be difficult to match..
Thanks again all for the recommendations

I was with Privilege last year (cause I'm not posh) but have got a good price from RAC this year. Both sub £300 for 10,000 miles, garaged, in Surrey. But I'm old enough for the insurance companies to think I'm responsible
and have a million years no-claims. I intend to give RH a try as they seem comptetive from previous posts.

Top bloke.. I think most of my family are now insured through his company.. Wonder if its time to negotiate a group discount?
You should always get quotes at renewal time as most companies offer a discount for new business, so are likely to be cheaper. Most companies just bank on people being so lazy they forget to shop around and just renew and your premium just creeps up and up, before you know it, its 20% higher than anywhere else.............!
as a second car, I use Classicline as I have always found them cheaper, but mine is a classic policy not sure who is the cheapest if its your only car!

Mike
just been quoted £270.90 with RH Specialist cars
I am with Churchill at the moment and it is £378.00
so will gently cancel Churchill (14 days 100% refund guarantee IIRC) and go with RH.
Or maybe get a quote from somewhere else.
5000 miles per annum, not garaged but hidden in the garden and UK/European assistance for that price? what more do you want?
