Are you going to put some heat shielding to stop the pipe heating up over the exhaust pipes?

Also, have you thought about ducting the air in with a Reverie style side intake or a perhaps a fan instead?

Hi Pete ,have had a look at side pods but they are very pricey and i am not sure how much of a improvement they would be intake temps are very low at the moment have seen it as low a 14 degrees this weekened compared with the 50 degrees i got last year with a top pan filter ,will probably make a heat shield to go between headers and inlet pipe when i get chance have got to open up throttle body (fromm 33mm to 40mm)before we go for a remap on the 23 june but engine feels at lot more revy than it did mods so far seem to be a big success biggest improvement seems to be light throttle work and tickover (no more stalling)am looking forward to final mapping .simon

DId you block off the normal air intake area then? Andy mentioned his was like a hairdryer aimed at your back...

Yep its a pain in the arse have not blocked it yet but am going to just concerned about were the heat will go ? if i block the vent would be better to fit a perspex panel inside the roll bar ???? to stop the heat getting to the back of your neck !!!

I wonder if you could fit a suitable fan arrangement just inside the old intake, to suck air in, rather than letting it drift back out when stopped...

That's what I've done Peter. I have two 60mm axial fans fitted just inside the intake which run permanently as no air flows through when you have the full screen.

Have you done anything about a wideband AFR sensor yet? Nice pics in PPC mag this month.

thanks Dave pics look good in mag have to admit bit supprised ,mapping is booked !!!other details not sorted yet put us a picture of fans up so we can have a look !!!p.s. any news on breather's ? been out tonite for a drive had some wheelspin in 3rd inlet temps of 12 degrees engine felt very very crisp !!! going to change pants now simon

looks like a good solution for getting air to the filter, I didn't block the scoop either purelly as it lets air out (none went in)....

I like the idea of the fans, be interested to know how effective they are when stationary at keeping the heat out of the cabin.

Andy,you are right the amount of air that comes out of the top vent when in traffic is hugh ,i am worried that trapping all that hot air in will cause overheating issues ......not that ultimas overheat inlet is a big emprovement wish i had done it with a carb would be a good upgrade over the standard pan filter .simon
