Just sold a car on Ebay, not an all singing all dancing 911, just an old g reg suzuki vitara I bought for my girlfriend.
The car had no tax or MOT as it didnt when I got it, and it was being sold because she hated it.
All the way through the listing I said it looks nice but might have lots of problems please view it before buying etc etc, sold as seen etc etc basically made it sound like it was ready for the scrappers.
It sold for £400 not a lot of cash for a car, certainly not top of the range car money really, and the chap said well if it fails MOT then its a £400 car what do you expect!

Get back home to the inevitable email.................... Its failed!
I hate selling cars on ebay, I have bought a few, and always view first, and certainly if i didnt, as I doubt I will be for the mini I'm buying her I certainly wouldnt blame the seller for it, unless they had seriously mislead me.
Why is it when your selling cars the cheap ones that your totally honest about always come back and bite you in the bum!

To be honest the big reason I finished the listing early was I got a good offer off a trader that I knew wouldn't mess me around after he had bought the car.
I actually didn't get as much as I would have done if I had let the auction run its course, but the lack of stress was worth it.
And no I can't see the problem, when you sell something as seen and honestly state it probably won't pass MOT without work, if it then doesn't I would have thought most people would think fair enough, If it was one of my restorations I would understand but with the best will in the world it wasn't a £15k classic car that looked better than it left the factory it was an old vitara for £400 lol
