Official pics of 997 GT3 RS

German mag auto motor und sport has what looks like offical pics of the new GT3 RS in lovely orange - head over here to have a look.

Story has a couple of details:
- same output
- 20 kg down
- closer gearing and single mass flywheel
- 4,2s to 62 mph
- 13,3s to 124 mph
- uses wide body from C4

Nice update on the colors though: Instead of white you can now choose between orange, green, black or silver...

There's a link at the very top that says Foto Shows and should have 11 piccies - all in orange though.

I love Orange 911s, especially with Black wheels.

Wonder why that didn't do it for me, is it a different Orange to their 'normal' colour?

Looks paler than the orange I've seen and like (blut orange).

HhhhMMM....I have really been looking forward to seeing the details of the RS....slightly disapointing that it doesn't have a 3.8 litre lump.

20kg saving over GT3....great!? I guess the wider rear track will help mechanical grip which is one thin, but for the apparent cost differential the GT3 CS (in white) looks like the one to go for? It would be out of character and far too cynical to suggest this RS is a great piece of marketing!

Daz, of the few 997 I have seen in orange, they have been "pure" orange not blut.

I imagine the darker orange (Blut orange) must be a special order colour. I don't imagine special order colours will be available on the RS.

Sure, Porsche will claim they've been inspired by the great colours of the '73 RS, but I reckon I'm onto something here...

If you specify the carbon seats on the standard GT3, you'll lose 20kg anyway.

Oh, nearly forgot, the RS doesn't have aircon either.

Completely agree with the general tone of this topic. Also if this is a cynical marketing ploy by Porsche I think they've shot themselves in the foot by pushing the GT3 in white so heavily. Once I'm ensconced in my new, White, Clubsport GT3 whats going to be so much better about the RS to encourage me to change? Maybe a different wing and a few bits and pieces - all of which I'm sure I'll be able to add to the GT3 anyway.
