Cureton Green Paint question.

Dear font of all knowledge.

Does anyone know if Cureton Green is another manufacturers colour, looking to find some in spray can form from Halfords or similar; rode up a kerb and scratched the underneath of my chin whilst being careless parking - as it is not in an obvious spot (you cannot really see it unless you are laying on the floor in front of my car) it doesn't need to be a perfect finish but it is annoying me enough to want to touch it back in as the scrapes are showing up white at the moment and I know they are there.

Webbs Auto in Bristol (www.tvrbodyshop.com) should be able to make you up some - I have just had a touch up stick delivered from them in Cureton Green (and its spot on)
Any probs let me know and I can email you the ICI formula so any old place should be able to mix it.

Cureton Green is a TVR colour.

When I bought my car I was told that it (Cureton Green) was a BMW colour, but I have not confirmed this.

Nope, named after someone who worked at the factory.

It was named after Dorothy Cureton.

She had worked for PRW for many many years and she is still as barmy as she was back then.

She makes a good coffee but not as good as John Ravenscroft. His are fantastic.

If you need to spray a small area, thin down the touch-up paint and run it through an airbrush. It's not that cheap to have an arosol made up, and an airbrush kit costs less than £20 at Halfruads. Made a presentable job of the stone chip on the front of mine which has put off the full front respray for another 12 months.....

It was named after dot this is true but it is a BMW colour it runs in my head that they called it Malichite if you need a code just ring the factory.

True, if you do a Google seacrh there does seem to be a BMW colour called Malachite green but I can't find any pictures to see if it's like Cureton Green.

OH its called malachit green with a code of BMW 205 period used 86/90
ICI code p422 A888B RM code of R2622

Strange every Cureton green I have painted has been a matallic
but I did play and once made it as a pearl but it changed the colour too much so it never used it on a car

Cureton Green is indeed the BMW malachite colour - I got a touch up pen and spray can from my local dealer couple of years ago...
