Hey guys im new to this forum so thought i would say hi before i ask loads of basic questions.

I like everybody else got soaked through on sunday on the london to brighton but i did get to talk to the guys at Z cars.

I think i talked to a guy called keith but not to sure, anyway what a nice chap, he talked me through the whole of his metal rwd vtec mini, going through most things and then did his show peice that is reving the car to 9k!!

What a sound!!

Anyway my question is has anybody here bought a kit from them... ive visited 16v minis forum and read up a bit on there but they seem unimpressed with the kit and have a general feeling that its over priced at roughly 10 k for whole build(a view that i dont hold)

The peeps that have got either the bike or honda conversion love them and dispute these claims (only 2 i could see on the forum), but could i get your views on them, as a drive up to yorkshire is a heck of a long way form Bristol...

cheers

Tom

I am building a Z-cars type-R mini at the moment. If you are thinking of doing one, i would highly recomend it! If you can let chris at z-cars know when you are comming up, you will find out what it is all about.
I like a 'A' powered mini as much as the next mini nut-I had just got a full race spec M.E.D 8port 1380.
I went in my mini to see Zcars to look at their 'A' series front subframe for my 8port, see if i could ditch the old front subby.
He took me out in the type-R demo car, as you do i sold my 8port and went to see my bank manager! It was that good! It went and stoped over the crapest roads like nothing i have ever experienced, very impressive.

Thanks for that, yer i've heard they handled very well

I would totally agreed with you on the A series, but to get them up to spec as you and many have found they cost a small fortune then need alot of up keep and maintaining, so the honda conversion seems like a great idea.

Whats sold me tbh is the sound.... and the cost!!!

If u were to look at building a westfield or similar u would be paying alot more for the kit, but can you concivabley build one for 10 k all in shell and instruments??

Cheers

You get what you pay for!

I've been out in the z cars minis and would say they're worth every penny, so good that I considered selling mine to build one at the time, but not quite that good
