Fuel pipe sizes

Pretty stupid I know but having thrown original pipes away I am now confused over fuel pipe sizes.

One from tank appears to be about 6mm whilst those on fuel pump and carb appear smaller, more like 4mm.

I am planning to fit bowl type fuel filters into the system so can deal with differing sizes that way.

But does anyone know what the actual sizes should be.

The engine is an "A+" 998 cc

I think the tank has a 7mm od connection if i remember correctly and standard pipes are 6mm internal. So you can either stretch the 6mm pipe to go on to the tank or if using 8mm pipe, need to make sure its clamped down enough.
