Ok, I'll start with a split lip today after slipping with a prybar whilst trying to seal cat bin to manifolds. Why does anything exhaust related always seem to involve lots of claret on these things?

More scars and burns than I care to mention from being bitten by my cars. A particular favourite is working under the car raising my head and clobbering usually my nose or forehead on the underside of the car, recoiling and smacking the back of my head on the ground and bouncing back up to smack myself on the underside of the car again. It sounds daft but if chuffing hurts!

Oh and the time when welding the underside of the Tasmin chassis some splatter burnt through my jeans, and boxers and burnt bits that really a quite tender!!!
Regards
Iain

While cleaning my chim (previous car) i thought i would give the lovely stainless exhausts a good polish. Unfortunately i caught the edge of middle finger on the exhaust edge and it cut well in. It also ingrained some black deposit off the inside into the cut which effectively tattooed a 'smilie' into my finger. I call it my TVR smile .
hardly life threatening i know

When in casualty with a leg injury, chap came in with a small hole in his cheek. There was little blood. He had difficulty talking but managed to explain that he was working underneath his car I think on his drive. It was jacked up on axle stands. His wife came home (I bet you're all some distance in front of me) and drove into the back of his car, knocking it off the stands. A bolt when through his cheek, pinning him to the ground. He was unable to call out. His missus went indoors, without checking for damage to either car or, come to that, her husband, and a passer by's attention was drawn to his grunting. He was unable to say how long he was trapped but he said it seemed forever. This was probably an exageration.

As the fire brigade jacked the car up, his head went with it and they were some time discussing the best way for them to deal with it. In the end they just pulled him free.

I wanted to see how deep it went but it was very dark in the hole and I didn't think a request to estimate the depth with a pencil would get a lot of support. As I was bleeding a fair bit I went in before him and never found out what the treatment for a hole in the cheek was.

I was doing some work on mine exactly two weeks ago. I was just packing up and carrying my toolbox to my other car and hit my knee on the side of he bumper just as all the weight was on that. My kneecap dislocated and nearly came out of the skin (not recommended, smarted a little). I'm still in plaster now and for another month yet

Sorry for the grossness.

ha ha not really working on the car injury, but as a kid i would help my mum load the shopping in the car.
This particular day i was about 6, i was leaning over the side of her mk1 escort in to the boot as i spotted something i wanted.. she couldnt see me and promptly attempted to shut the boot about 4, 5 times...
i was shouting mum! mum! and should would say wait a minute i am trying to shut the boot!
Then she realised my head was in the bloody thing!
No long term damage.. well ill let you be the judge of that :0)

Whilst working on my old 280 Tasmin FHC to fix the pop up headlamps that were sticking in the upright position (as usual). I accessed the motor from underneath the front spoiler and turned the manual adjustment knob, which triggered the motor to lower the headlamp pod thereby trapping my wrist very firmly between the pod and the side of the access hole. Because of the contortion I was in to get my hand in the hole without the car being jacked up it felt that I was in some sort of martial art arm lock.

Despite shouting for the missus no one came for around for what seemed like an age so no rescue from my beloved. My knees were sore as I was fixing the Tiv on the road and the surface was stone chips which meant that when I moved a stone would instantly embed itself in my knee caps and due to position my hand was in any movement would cause the grip to increase on my wrist and if I moved it the other way I was restricted by the design of my elbow. It was my next door neighbour who had seen me on the floor when he came home and popped around for a nosey who rescued me.

He switched on the headlights and released me from my Tasmin death grip. No damage done, just a sore wrist, pins and needles in my fingers when the blood returned and a big red mark on my skin where I had been trapped.

The headlights worked fine afterwards thanks for asking !!!

Laying length ways under my S2 fitting stainless manifolds and got a face full of muck, I twisted my head as a reaction and smacked my nose on one of the chassis members also knocking my glasses off in the process. After groping around for the glasses I put them back on my now sore head only to find my glasses were now in two pieces and had snapped across the bridge

Try telling that to your employers insurance company. I would have thought by company number 5 you won't have any limbs left anyway.
