wear and tear warranty? (yawn, sorry)

As I am fast approaching TVR ownership with a car less that 1 year old with the TVR 3 year warranty (balance thereof). Do you need to have the wear and tear warranty too? So if the clutch goes or the top end needs re-doing at 13k miles (say) would the normal TVR 3 year warranty cover it or not?

The reason for asking is that I am a 'no surprises' kinda person regarding cars. So I dont mind taking the risk on actual reliability/failure/wearing out, but I just hate irregular big bills!

If you have a car still within its factory warranty everything will be covered by the factory EXCEPT wear and tear. This is the same for any car manufacturer that I know.

The wear and tear warranty is only part of the optional extended warranty as far as I know. You'll be paying a lot of money to 'upgrade' as the factory warranty has no W&T option, thus you'd need the complete £1350p.a. third party warranty offered by dealers.

Does that make sense?

eek. So is the wear and tear warranty a 3rd party one and not TVR? The car is 8 months in to its 3 yr warranty. What I dont want to do is end up with a fight over a clutch or top end rebuild(for example) at a mileage which would not be classed as worn out.

My evo clutch was horrible and juddery after about 5k miles and Mitsufishi refused to do anything as the clutch was "not covered". I'm sure I could have won a battle on merchantability, but had and have better things to do!

what are you worrying about, a TVR clutch will last at least twice as long Not sure about the rest of the engine though.
