Hope someone can help as I've been searching the net all day.

Does any know the sizes of welding gas bottles eg size Y etc. I'm looking for about a 3ft tall one but don't know what letter it is.

Hope someone can help, thanks inadvance.

Sorry good point. I'll be welding Mild Steel, so CO2 or an Argon mix.

Thanks,

Check this PDF out:
www.bocindustrial.co.uk/product_information/product_data/all%20cylinder_sizes.pdf

Seems both X and Y are about 3' tall, but Y is fatter than X so more of the good stuff inside

Can anyone confirm whether BOC will rent cylinders to home users? I'm getting a bit bored with the disposable size rip offs!

Cheers,
Rob

Thanks for that.

Yes you can set up an account theres a yearly/monthly rental and then the charge for the gas.

you have to be using it quite a lot to justify. I rent acteyline and oxygen from BP. Comes to £70 a year for just the rental before the gas!!
