Track days at East Fortune.
Discussion
It does not look any less bumpy than it used to be, from the video - I suspect that the noise nuisance is more about the behaviour of a certain type of 'enthusiast' coming and going to the venue through the village, rather than noise from the venue itself - apparently Crail village has a similar issue.
Didnt realise it was anywhere as near as long as Knockhill Duka. Its a real shame they are'nt doing any more.
Mate of mine is a pilot @ Edin and says someone has put a planning app in to allow aircraft to land there again. Residents have objected. Thing is it was an active airfield before all those ( 5 ? ) houses were built so how can they complain now ? If it became a usable airfield again, then regular track days would be sorted i think.

Been on 3 track days at EF, all organised by Javelin, although the first two were in liaison with the Scottish Alfa Owners club.
The last one was over two days (due to a cock up at Javelin, the first was priced as a half-day, but was a full day hours).
The Sunday was quite different from any of the other days there, lots of tracked hot hatches, and some pretty inconsiderate driving. One 205 driver put his car through the tyres.
Javelin were quite positive that they would make sure the 'mix' was not repeated, but there were some noise issues.
I can't see a track day producing more noise than bike racing, and a couple of weekend days a year is hardly nuisance.
Maybe we need a Toyota Prius Onwers club trackday, no fuel allowed, only batteries...

I find it funny that the local people are now compiling about the noise I used to live in East Fortune at the Orlits my father {John Clements}was charge nurse when the Melvile Motorbike Club asked Davey Pate if the could use the track he said they would have to ask the Hospital to see if it would disturb the patients, as my dads was one of the nearest wards if there would any problem, my old man said he could not see any they would have do a trial to see. The as its been going for for 30 odd years is proof there was none. So how can the newbies who are now living in the area complain if it was not to noisy for a hospital how is it to noisy for the. How many times a year does it happen when I lived there it was about 3/4 times a year if the are having track days now so it might be 10 /12 times a year so stop being a bunch twits and think of ways to cash in.

They probably can't actually here anything, some people just like to kick up a stink to feel they are saving everyone from the evil powers of free radicals lolScott
