Please give your thoughts on the above debate......I have seen quite a few Murcielagos recently and a conversation with an owner has re-ignited my interest in the Lamborghini. (I'm convinced I need to drive it again).
What do you guys think from a looks/sound/exclusivity/driving proposition point of view...
LHD Murcies can be found for almost the same price as a new RHD Spiders..... what do you think fellas - which would you pick?

I'd have the Ferrari, and in a heartbeat.

While I'm not a fan of the rollover hoop treatment on the spider, I like this more than the entire rear end treatment on the Murcielago. I came out of the Murcielago test drive preferring the 360 Modena irrespective of the price difference, and I just love the sound of the Tubi'd 360.

The Murcielago is probably more exclusive and you're perhaps less likely to be labelled a tosser when out in it. Personally, I care less about either of these and it wouldn't influence my decision.

The other thing to bear in mind is that there is only one UK Lambo dealer. I'm not a fan of monopolies, and when that monopoly belongs to H R Owen, it is out of the question.

Money no object I'd have to give the Lambo a go.

Sensible hat on, got to be the 360 spider with comparatively low depreciation and running costs combined with wind in your hair motoring.

360 spider(biased). I do like the Murci but the back end takes some getting used to. I'm sure I could accept it sitting in the drivers seat

(quickly signs off before Mrs MARA realises I'm not getting ready for the gym)

And permit me to jog your memory Manu ( ) but after we'd been out in the Murcielago, we went to have a look at the 550 and 456M they had in stock. I clearly recall how you ranked the interior fit out of these cars too.

Manu,
The Lambo is a beast. You cant see out of it, you cant reverse it without looking daft and the engine sounds like a tractor (j/k). 360 Spider is the choice that has to be made, or the Murc open top which solves the visibility probs.

Ferrari 360 anyday...the most appealing thing about a sports car is driving it and the ferrari is easier to deal with everyday which means you drive it more and hence maximise your pleasure...OK I have not driven a Murcielago yet but having driven a Diablo on various occasions(and despite the Murcielago being a better behaved beast ) the same issues are there for me..ridiculous visibility for parking, too big, and as mentioned the back end looks like someone snorted all the compnenets and sneezed them out on the back...

Plus the running costs of the car are RIDICULOUS.....

The thing is guys, I keep seeing this black Murcie in Egham all the time...
Road presence is just sensational - literally incredible, the width, the shape, how low it is. The way the doors open just kills me.... It's E X O T I C in a way like only the Enzo/F50 etc are - I have little doubt that a 360 Spider is a better alrounder...but... I'm sure Ali can clarify the situation ....

OK, Ali isn't around so let me do it for you! I love the Murcielago (and for that matter the Diablo, I'm wetting myself that I'll be punting one round Mallory in a couple of months!). It just (as mentioned) has SO much presence, the looks are subjective of course but I love it. It looks sensational in a 'proper' Lambo colour (ie, bright yellow / orange).
Then there's the driving experience. I hate to say it, but the fact that the Lambo is more; how shall I say; 'challenging' actually appeals to me - master the beast and all that... The noise these cars make as standard is incredible, it must be phenomenal with a Tubi - you just can't beat 12 cylinders! Now, from everything I read (having not driven a Murc) it seems that it genuinely is a wonderful drivers car - indeed it has taken more than one 'drivers car' accolade so it really ought to be useable (& enjoyable) on the right roads. Buying a car like this cannot really be a practical decision, so I'm going to ignore things like size / running costs / depreciation and say that money no object I'd probably plump for the Lambo. I agree manu that it's special enough to be judged alongside more expensive machines that the 360 (not a Pagani though.. that’s altogether different!).
In summary (anyone bored yet!) I ABSOLUTELY ADORE Ferrari's, 355GTB + TUBI would be my instant post loto win purchase... but 360 vs Murc, it has to be the Lambo for me. I honestly think I'd just get more excitement and thrills out of looking at / driving it, and sod the running costs (Does anyone spending £130k + on a car REALLY not by a car due to excess running costs?)

Edited to remove dumbass spelling and typo's

For posing appeal the Murci.

However IMHO the 360 spider is absolutely stunning, sounds amazing with Tubi, turns heads especially hood down, can be thrashed around a track and twisty country roads and has a better interior than the Murci.

It looks beautiful as opposed to "shocking" or in your face. The 360 spider is a very sexy car.

BTW I was out in one on friday again, love it each and every time.

Not sure if you have space limitations, but for the same money you could get a new AMG E55 Merc and either a concours Countach or a 355 Spider - can't think of a better combination either way really....

Lambo, in Black on Black without question.

Satan has just ordered one as a company car...

Manu, first off thanks. Oh and Sat was worse than I explained, tell you later! I know you said be totally impartial, but I don't think I can!!! I'll try though.

Problem with Lamborghini's in general is Lamborghini UK, AKA H.R.OWEN for godsake!!! How could anything but headache occur from dealing with these guys??? My previous attempts at trying to buy a car from these guys left me in disbelief about how totally crap they are. There was one nice guy there, and that was it. The rest total spazies. Maybe they've changed?. We'll see, but I suspect Kevin is right (as ever )

Ferrari warranty is likely to be a much better proposition. Until Audi/VW have got another couple of dealers in the UK and sorted the importer situation, I think it will be difficult to live with a Lamborghini. From what it seems, VW/Audi has done a lot so far, so hopefully sorted soon. Major shame otherwise. 9 months of sheer joy can be forgotten if followed by even one problem that doesn't get resolved.

The 360 Spider is a lovely car, but its looks aren't as striking as a Diablo or Murcielago. Both the Lambo's look awesome. Also, there are far fewer about. There are pros and cons of having a rare car though. I guess it depends which pros and which cons you can/can't live with.

I know a 360 is fantastic driver's car, but know nothing about a Murcielago or a Diablo driving. I'm gonna find out. LHD can be bugger though, me thinks.

Manu, as discussed before, answer this:

You pull up to lights in:

a 360 Spider, next to you pulls up a Diablo, colour you wanted to get. Will you think "should have got one of those"?

a Diablo, next to you comes the 360 Spider. Will you regret getting the Diablo?

a LHD Murky, RHD Diablo pulls up beside you. Will you regret not getting RHD Diablo? What if he legs it overtaking all, and you can't coz you can see jack shit?

a LHD Murky and 360 Spider gets alongside. Will you regret? Especially roof down summer day, tubi howling away?

Oh damn, it's an bastard of a dilemma isn't it?

Personally I'd go for the Murky.

No, maybe the Diablo.

No no, its got to be the Spider, sunny days, tubi etc.

Then again, the Murky looks BAD. Not as pretty as a Diablo though...

Ninj, I don't know how your head copes with such quandries! The answer surely is to have all of them at some3 point or another!

Alternatively concentrate more on your work. Make higher net profits not worrying about the decision, then have all of them at the same time.

hmm......think Id take the RHD 360 over an LHD Murci, but definitely an RHD Murci over either of the others... for all the reasons trackdemon has already outlined!

Folowed an 'ice blue' 360 spider all the way down the M3 on Sat afternoon funnily enough...looks lovely from the back but aside from that it didnt thrill me to the point of wanting to go out and buy one straight away....

Fellas,

Take a look at the giallo 360 spider for sale at Evans Halshaw. Look at the spec, challenge grille, modular wheels, two tone competition racing seats....

If that doesnt turn you on nothing will!!

Daz, I would worry about this kind of thing even if I had £100m. £200m would probably put my mind at rest though, just in case you wanted to donate to my cause

Steve, I am going to VW. Did you get my mail regarding met bar? sent it a while ago, I suspect the girl (friend of a friend) can still sort it.

I think I agree with Nightmare.

360 needs to be the right colour, but so does the murci. Ever seen a silver one from the rear? yuk! Diablo has a much better styled rear IMO.

Those bloody scissors doors

Not sure if you guys have got the MTV show "Cribs: Whips, rides and dubs edition" yet, but they have a few Murcis owned by Busta Rhymes and a few other guys.

They have ruined a 360 spider and a Murci so have your tissues ready. Watching it right now and I'm wondering how they've managed to make a 360 spider look lke a cheap kit car.
