any body else out there find their S runs crap with anything less than quater tank?
When I corner with low fuel I get the engine cutting out, straighten up and its fine. If I run with over quarter tank to full its fine and dandy.

Will removing the feed at the bottom of the tank reveal anything? (apart from a petrol shower if any left in tank!)

Fuel surge on corners is normal when the level is low.

If your running the 2.8 V6 mfi? It will be the fuel pump which is past it`s best, i changed that on my XR4i when i had similar symptoms

I have it on my S1 2.8 when I corner, but only when I run the tank really empty. If it's a quarter full, there's no problem.

Could be the pump...

There's a course guaze filter where the fuel exits the tank accessible by removing the six screw flange plate adjacent to the exit pipe union. Mine was completely full of rust and crud that had settled from inside the tank. I had exactly the same symptoms and cured it by cleaning this out. The tank needs draining though !

I had my S1 on the track a week ago and had a problem with fuel surge. Solved it by pouring all the petrol I had in as it was fairly low. Our local track has a very long (greater than 180 degrees) 3rd gear (in the TVR) sweeper off the end of the straight and the car would run right around this then cut out.
This fuel surge will damage a good fuel pump as they are fuel lubricated and running them dry won't do them any good at all.
