what a great lunchtime - at Racing Green

As some may have noticed from my posts I am looking at TVR ownership. I awarded myself a long lunch-break today and toddled off to Racing Green. I am specifically looking at getting a Tamora. I spent a fabulous 2 1/2 hours with John Heywood looking at the cars, having a fantastic tour of the facilities (well not the toilets!) and going for a test drive.

It was undoubtedly the best 'test drive' experience ever. Even better than my visit to caterham in 1996, where the sales guy handed me the keys to a 7 and said see you in a while!

So thanks to John for a great time and for doing a fab sales job. I'm def hooked, just got to sort out what level of spend and how to get budgetary approval!!

When I was looking to by I went to Racing Green. They asked what sort of buget I had and when I told them they said that they would not deal in cars of that value, under 18,000. They then spent the next 3/4 of an hour telling me what to look for who to speak to and where to look on the net. All this after knowing it was a no sale.
Of course I now get my Chim serviced there but with near independent prices and good service what the hell.

Whow - that is excellent service. I didnt know they were non-main stealer prices. Whats the hrly rate? I know indies are from £35 ph. Are they near that rate? I would have thought that they were nearer £70 ph or more?

I don't know current prices but when i checked it out it was within £100 for the service. Check out the link below. They also gave me a full breakdown of all the little things that need doing and what was easy to do myself. I must admit they are only 2 miles from me so less hassle as well, but still great service.

They are about 615 incl whereas APM are 450 incl. £165 difference. So suggest to me that the hrly rates are probably quite different. So if your car needs a few extras then the difference starts to mount up.
