In my opinion, no comparison. I'd stick with the Ultima. After getting rides on a few at the gathering last year I am officially HOOKED!!!!! I liked them before, but the rides sealed the deal. So hopefully some investments will pay off and I can eventually get one. But for now I can only watch (and maybe help build if there are any locally).

I've seriously thought about it, but the wife woukld litteraly kill me. pretty much depreciation proof though, and mint by all accounts. they are bit agricultural to drive appently. You really need an ex rally, or rallycross one to be seriously fast. Will Gollop's twin turbo had about 700BHP, and would out accelerate an F1 car, but would only last a race before heat became an issue. I still love them though, the sound is amazing.

I believe the block was based on the Rover V8 with two cylinders removed and some fancy cylinder heads, so a Rover V8 has every chance of fitting. Rods and pistons are easily sourced and not too expensive, cylinder heads would cost a bomb though.
Same engine was turbo'd and used in the XJ220 and several racing Jags. I know a chap here in NZ who has one (turbo'd V6) that was dyno'd at 900bhp!
