Honda Start Button

I would like to upgrade my std factory start button (black and dull)to the very posh honda start button that i have seen in quite a few cars ,is it very difficult to fit it to the existing loom setup ? do i have to modify it much (thanks stig for part no )thanks .Simon

Good to meet you yesterday. Have to come in for a brew and check on Pistonheads .Wiring the Honda start button is as straight forward as it gets. The start buttons only act as momentary action switches(work as long as you keep them pressed). The starting relay is already in the loom so you only need the switch itself. Two connections thats all. Power comes via the ignition switch and then goes through the button when pressed to the starting relay.
You see the Honda buttons on ebay all the time. I bought the savage starter button from the show yesterday. It has a nice blue led back light which all my new gauges will have.

Is that the small Savage start button or the completly over the top 'HUGE' one that Keith bought?

Yes it's wired the same as the standard one.

Hi Simon, I have the Honda starter button too. If I can wire it up, then anyone can, believe me! Just follow the wiring diagram on Stigs GTR build site.

Gaz did you fit a second relay i got stigs wireing dia but he put in a second relay if there is a relay already do i need a 2nd ?

You don't need another relay! Stigs diagram only shows one.

Yup, still not sure why I decided to put in the second relay as it's not required! Didn't bother with it on the Can-Am.
