Wheeler at Motor Shows?

NOT a tvr factory - bashing thread please .. genuine thoughts only.
I wondered what TVR enthusiasts' thoughts would be should PW turn up at the motor shows in the future?
Martin Lilley I think was a regular visitor to the stands in the Wheeler ownership days .. but I'm starting to think PW sold to the wrong guy for the enthusiasts (though very much the right guy to make his money from the sale and get out without before the dust settles..)
So if PW turned up would you view him as hero or villain (at the end)?
For me he's still the Hero .. great cars throughout his era and still the man who's defined TVRs image far more than anyone before and probably in the future too. So i'd shake him by the hand and say "thankyou" .. but what would you say!?
Wheeler is dogs nuts, is the bee's knees, is the breast's nipple, is the candles wax....
But last i heard he left the UK with his secretary less than half-his-age - that he got pregnant? fair play to him... millions in the bank and a young babe under the arm.... sorted...

I met Mr (Sir?) P Wheeler at the Brum motor show,and shook his massive hand. I congratulated him on the Griffith. He didn't hang around at the show for long, I feel privilege to have met him.
I don't think he would regret selling when he did, but he might do if we see a new Griffith type inovation come from TVR.
I'm sure we will!

yeah .. had yesterday off so back in today .. moving my rolling road 'cos I have 6 powerful front wheel drive cars to do, but generally having a lazy day .. pottering about, you know
A hero, no doubt. Under his stewardship TVR saw its best days so far. And produced some of its best cars: I can't think of any other car that looks quite so mean and sexy in equal amounts as the Cerbera.
I believe he was 60 years old when he sold the company, a perfectly respectable age to bow out and retire.
And, of course, he came from God's Own County, which automatically makes him a hero anyway.

And he did the Tuscan,and the T350 and the Sagaris. I can't help thinking PW would not have blocked up the Saggys vents- the man wasn't afraid to go to extremes which was why TVR attracts so many.So on that basis I think he is a hero-but like all heros he had his flaws one of which was not completeing development of cars or engines before launching them.

Wheeler's bold 'bollox to convention' cars and ideas were very much part of what I bought into and I suspect it's been the same for many other owners. Wheeler, when he was at the helm, was the High Priest of the TVR brotherhood.
Hero - although some of his choices of engine were not really the best.
I thought the AJP V8 was a big gamble - luckily it (Cerb) did not sell well and gave them the chance to fix the initial issues.
Speed 6 in theory hits the emissions targets but must be an expensive engine to produce in such small numbers and as a package is akwardly long for such a short car (T350 & Sagaris) making maintaince costs high and interior heat (high)& cabin space (for air con etc) rather restricted.
At least there seems to be much better 'off the shelf' engine choice now

Shake him by the hand of course. He ran a car company to produce exactly the cars he wanted to and damn the rest of the world what they thought. If I had £15m to splurge on a car company, its *exactly* what Id do till I went bankrupt and then Id walk away laughing after having had a whale of a time.
