Can-am air scoop ?

when sitting in traffic i get a neck full of hot air and fumes has anyone blocked the top air scoop in my can-am clip ? i wonder if it will create higher temps under rear clip . Simon

I am in the process of fitting two small DC axial fans in mine! This is to direct cold air over the carb hat on my throttle body but it will also stop the hot air and fumes coming out when in traffic. They are quiet in operation(not like you will hear them over the engine noise anyway!).
The scoop does nothing on the Can-Am if you have the full screen which I am also fitting soon. You could block it off can't see it would make that much of a difference if you have the full screen.

Hi Dave , must admit not sure what to do with it ? Efi is working well been mapping a bit today just to iron out a lumpy bit at 2300 rpm in the end it wanted a bit more fuel and a bit of timing ,air pickup from side pod is working well air temp when its standing goes up to 50 degrees but on the move it drops to 20 managed to get 85 miles to £23 of petrol !!!!! not bad will be there tomorrow look forward to having a chat .Simon

Thats pretty good i think. in pre-turbo days, with the big pancake filter sat on top of the engine, I would see 50'c pretty much all the time, creeping even higher when in traffic or the fans came on.

Hi Eliot , have a temp probe in the rear clip at the top have seen temps of 55 degrees on a hot day saw 60 in traffic once carb did not like it !!! efi is much better !!!. simon
