Insurance for TVR and second car

Considering getting a second car for commuting due to changing job location soon.

Rang my insurance company and they won't share my NCB so quote on the second car is more than for my Tamora!

Anyone done this before without wallet pain?

Direct line were able to mirror my no claims on a second car.
I have a Chimaera and a Focus.

Well that's interesting as I'm with Privilege who are owned by Direct Line.

Do they want to know if one car will be driven more than the other?

Is it cheaper to have another named driver?

I bought a shed and insured it as cheap as I could. Still cost me about £500, but I was 22 at the time!

Did exactly this myself when I had the Chim. There are plenty of companies that will mirror your no claims these days, as it's getting more common for one person to own more than one car. Just shop around. Can't remember who I went with in the end,, sorry.
