Thanks. I am afraid I cannot/willnot comment about TVR as I am sue you will understand.
Plus I am always the last to find things out as I am more concerned about my own little TVR world

You can listen to it at www.rockfm.co.uk but basically all the workforce have reportedly received letters today and they were dated 13th April. It also reports that no one is available to comment from the factory as it is on annual shut down

Having had more negotiations and consultations with the T&GWU over the years than I care to recall, that is about standard.
However, in defence, it is not the best way to communicate with a workforce. Send them a letter when the factory is shut down. Who are they supposed to consult/be counselled by.
The announcement for Reighton (sp) yesterday at least had the night shift coming in, to be told face to face, and then allowed home to give them time to adjust to the news and not have to work through it.
As has been mentioned on here historically, it is often the quality of the leadership that drives the results of a business, and this would seem to reaffirm some peoples concerns over the current quality of leadership at the factory.
Personally, it wouldn't do anything for my motivation or longer term commitment to a business when they came knocking at my door 6 months down the line to see if I would be available for work again.

If they have a lack of orders they should try sacking the sales manager(s) and not the workers !!!
I recently walked into a TVR dealership with £26K in my current account and I found little to tempt me other than impressive depreciation and (pointed out by my maintenance manager) a very cheap glove box lid.
My wife has found other ways of investing the cash.
