Now i new that a Noble was fast but i really didnt understand how fast. Iv seen a few on the road and just thought " I bet that's a quick kit(which to me it was) car " but why have one as i new they wasnt cheap.
BEDFORD BEDFORD BEDFORD is the answer.
I had my First track day on saturday and a guy and his daughter were good enough to show what this car could do......... I just cant desribe the fun i had just being a passenger in it. I just cant tell you how it felt, it was amazing beyond any other car iv been in!!!! The guy was an x racing driver but not taking anything away from the car it was astounding.
Anyway now i know what drivings about and you noble owners are very lucky. Good choice.

You took the AMV8 on track?
Have to confess to not having seen one on a track day yet.
Yep(i went round twice), it was a laugh and good to put my foot down without the chance of being nicked but i wont be taking it on there again.
On the straight i managed to get upto 128 the noble was pushing past 160 on the same(fast).

That sounds fairly unlikely unless they've removed the chicane or his engine has been massively tuned, or his speedo is well out, or he's redesigned the cars aero package from the ground up...
... you get the picture

Right iv got the picture, it did look like 160 from where i was sitting but obviously you guys seem to think thats not very likely. It was the whole circuit in case that changes your opionion but maybe it was 150 and I saw it wrong.
No problem my car still got to 128 or am i wrong there as well.

At the recent Easytrack day I was seeing 140 as I hit the brakes for the chicane in the middle of the back straight.

I can get to mid 140 and I'm not particularly talented and leave a fair bit of braking margin, the good RS drivers can get to low 150s. This is all indicated rather than actuals. Guess a carreraGT or tuned GT2 etc would get to 160, although I don't really know. Obviously the quicker you are going, the earlier you need to brake to make the chicane.

I saw 140 down that straight as well, I then out braked myself and took an interesting line through the chicane! ![]()
I recommend not looking at the speedo while driving down that straight!
I also recommend not taking anyones word on what speed they carry through that chicane. Loads of Elise drivers used to claim going through it at over 100mph. The only way that is possible is if you straighten it by massively venturing onto the escape areas. (I've carefully studied peoples speedos going through there just to make sure I'm not an utter wuss going through at closer to 70).
I got through there at 78-80 once.
Just the once.
I won't be doing it again, oh no, never.
Had to change my nappie!
65-70 is fast enough for little old me!
I also think 140 is top wack for Bedford, thought I hardly ever bothere going over about 110-120 as I don't really see the point in wearing everything out faster.

It is one of the most "exaggerated" corners I've seen for speed. I think it's becuase you are actually braking so hard that people don't realise from when they stop looking at the speedo to when they turn in they have taken another 15-20 mph off easily.
I tend to exit it (which is the only time I look at my speedo!!!) around the 100-105 mark.

The thing with not maxing along the straight is that you miss the challenge of braking from a high speed accurately. I do leave a decent margin of error though. I suspect the braking for the hairpin that follows is harder and more wearing on the car.
