How much turbo lag do Noble's have?

Just curious on how much turbo lag Noble's have
compared to other turbo charged cars?

I have the GTO3 and as they use 2 small (t25's) they spin up very quickly, so it is almost not noticable IMO. i have driven quite a few turbo cars, both standard and modded. IMO the noble is one of the least laggy cars ( excluding cars running anti-lag)

Mine's a 2.5 and with the Faulks IC and a BOV there is no lag at all.

My previous car was a twin turbo Mitsubishi GT3000, and I thought it had no real turbo lag. Driving it after my 3R I was left saying "Come on...come on!" It really does make most other cars (and I was going to but an FQ330) feel like snails on Prozak.

They are not laggy as such but do have a soft throttle response compared with the best NA engines as all turbo cars do. I'd say the lag was about the same as a golf 1.8T (low pressure 150bhp version).

Oooh touched a nerve there I think....nothing really other than when they first came out they were parked outside Salon's alot , and now they tend to have very large exhausts and be driven by people who can't sit up straight or use two hands on the wheel

Going back through the forum, you won't find many engine failures mate !

Considering the amount of track work that many of them do, the engines are pretty much bullet proof.

As an ex TVR owner this was a big reason for me to move to the marque. Search these pages and you'll be very hard pressed to find many (if any) genuine failures.

I think the difference between a TVR and a Noble is the TVR will tend to stop dead in a cloud of steam, where as a Noble will still run quite nicely with problems.

I had 2 new turbo's in the first year, but apart from odd whistling noises it still went as well as before.

Turbo lag ? What's that ?

Seriously, if you get a Blow Off Valve fitted, and keep the engine at peak torque/revs it does not feel like there is any lag at all.

The six speed gearbox does a better job of keep the engine in the sweet zone, but you can still hussle with a 5 speed too, but you just have to rev a bit further than the 5.5K optimum.

As for reliability (Here we go Greg!) I've covered in excess of 60K miles in a Noble, with only one engine change (no fault of noble, rather a dealer screw up).
