Hi All,

It looks like the internal baffles in my exhaust have collapsed as it rattles like a baby's favourite toy..!!

Who does the best exhaust for a 2.9 S3 nowadays? I would quite like one that has split tailpipes exiting from the rear like a V8. I seem to remember that Peninsula used to do some like this.

Any other suggestions?

Ralph

Either of the above..

Having had and S3C with straight through pipes and a pair of cherry bombs in it as a daily driver for 3 years, even my antisocially loud V8S seems tame.. Blue Flame did the job for the owner before me, I believe he said he wanted it to sound like a Le Mans racr.

When at full chat and driven enthusiastically still sounds like a rutting spitfire..

I have the exact same problem as Ralph S3 - and am going this route on Wednesday when Austec will do their magic (keep an eye out for a maniac in an S with the roof off hooning round the M25 at 6:30am). Its a lot LOT cheaper than a new exhaust. Bit worried though as I don't actually want it louder - just less horrible rattles!

If this makes no sense at all then its the Wines fault. OK.

You may want to concider popping into a Powerflow place and sound them out. I used the one in St Albans for my range rover and Audi Coupe and they did a fab job. They will build it as loud as you want and to any design.
Worth a decko

Its totally knackered (the exhaust that is). I admit I've suspected it for a long time as it is the original. New SS Act exhaust being fitted

My after market SS exhaust rattling - thanks to "Mr Council and those blooming speed humps". So this weekend, I’m cutting open the exhaust and re-welding it back together again.

I have just replaced the exhaust on my S3C as the baffles had given up the ghost. I can highly recommend TVR Car Parts, I have the stainless sports system with the wider pipes (a la V8) and it sounds amazing.
Give them a call, really helpful guys!

Exhaust had to be done quickly as S is my only car and daily driver.

Austec - your exhaust has just fallen to bits in a pile of rust. Want us to fix a new one?

Me - Does anything else need doing on the service?

Austec - Nope. All else fine.

Me - What exhaust can you fit?

Austec - We have an Act SS one in stock...

Me (checked Pistonheads) Very favourable comments on Act. Ok, do it.

Later that day: Austec - All is ready to collect.

Me: sounds
