Will I gte my bike in a mini?

Hi,

I know you can get 87 students in one, but can you get a mountain bike in a mini?

Managed to get my sub 5 (minus the wheels) into the back of a Quantum kit car with the hard top on, so thinking there must be some way of doing it - with the rear seats out maybe? Always had a bit of a thing fro minis, now I've got the budget to buy a decent spec cooper wondering if I can fit my beloved bike in!!

I can get a 6'4 surfboard in my mini with a 6 point roll cage and door bars! It involves some very complex geometry! Bike? No chance! Tin opener?

I got a 17" full sus bike in my old bog standard mini, with the wheels off obviously.

I'd probably struggle now though....

Sounds promising, what was involved in doing that? Any seats removed?

I used to get a racing bike in the back of my Mini so a MTB should be no problem.

Just remove wheels, make sure you cover all the crappy bits, slide it into thr front upside down and then rotate it over the seats so its the right way round.

Remove the back seat if you want more room. No good if you have high back seats in though.

Look, its a bike, so get on and ride it, thats what they're for, dont put it in the car. Now, minis thy're for sticking in the garage for endless tinkering, far too noisey, uncomfortable and problematic for driving too much! I ride about 7000-8000 miles a year on the push bike, mainly to work and back whilst the mini is usually in bits, although it finally got taken away last night for a respray.

No, just the wheels off and a blanket on the back seat....twist the bars round i think, possibly had the front end over the passenger seat...I can't remember that well, but it all went in no probs.

My carbon & alloy s-works is lighter than my 8st girlfriend, so I'd ditch the passenger & rear seat to get it in. Priorities afterall.

get quick release front seat mount - basically a clevis pin with an r-clip through it - and then you can whip the pasenger seat out and have the bike in the back with no trouble, obv. wheels off though...

otherwise, get a hatchback cycle carrier a sunroff and a roll cage and some long top straps and you're away <- this is the set-up i use but then the phrase mini 'special' has never been so apt...
