Door opening devices

Having completely fallen in love the Chimaera, I have wondered why the machined ball for openeing the doors when inside the car, has not been carried on to the later models. Is there any specific reasons for this, or just natural progrssion? If it is the latter, then is there anyway to retro-fit them to later cars like the Tamora?

It was just a general queery really, just got my brain going.

AFAIK it's only on the Chim! shame cos it's sorta snazzy IMHO.

Only an opinion but it is probably because the early Chimaera had a mechanical external door opener. The inclusion of a cable pull for the internal opener would make sense. Later Chimaera's had a solenoid activated by the door mirror switch but retained the internal for simplicity.

Later models that were originally conceived with electronic external openers would naturally be built using the same electronic technology for the internal opener.
