Ok gang, Fancy treating my 2000w 450 chim. the choices I am considering:

1 Private plate

2 Gaz shocks and maybe Mr Heaths drop links

3 A set of 17inch RSV Khans

Open to an other suggestions and combinations.

Would like to do all the above but unfortunatley the wife may disagree.

Tricky decision - I've got a hankering after a set of Nitrons. No idea why, it must be some subliminal programming from this site!!

I've got a hankering for 400BHP, if you must have hankerings at least have mega ones.

I would certainly go down the Nitrons (or equivalent) route with full suspension geometry setup. The car will feel like it's running on rails afterwards! The handling will be vastly improved and should help to eliminate the 'bump oversteer' that can sometimes occur when one hits an unexpected pothole.

Out of your list two of them in my opinion are visual...... you have to make up your mind weither you after visual or perfomance....

and IMHO performance wise the best money is spent on new springs and dampers (I am not getting into what is best or not ... too much said on subject just recently .. do search if you want to know)

The knowledge you can chuck your car about is priceless over some bling looking wheels or a plate ... so much more fun

I see where you're comming from but before we get carried away on the excellent titanium Intrax shocks, remember they will be around £1500 plus fitting and VAT, mind you they are the dogs danglies.

Exactly, I think I'll sort out my absolutely knackered shocks and bushes first after all the car is supposed to be a demonstrator.

Yes dear had to buy a Chim for demo's and to ofset some tax, no you can't have more curtains.

Have you checked this out? You'll need min 8" rims for the 235/45/17. Would you be happy with that tyre size?

Interesting thought on the wheels Khans say they are available as 7's or 7.5's.

As you're south yorkshire why not give Richard Thorpe a call at RT Racing and ask his advice, he's just on your doorstep so ideally placed to help you out

I'm with Steve on this one! Get the handling perfect before starting on cosmetics.

Just had my suspension done by Ian at Middlewich. Protechs all round and rose jointed drop links. BIG difference.

That's probably the most important decision. Sorting out the suspension would be the biggest reduction in lap times but is that what you want? Would you be happy with 7.5" rims and 235 rear tyres? If you'd like to fit the rear with 255/40/17s you'll need 8.5" rims with 9" rims preferred. Sadly most people bodge the offsets and rim widths because most mass market alloys are made for euroboxes and don't have the corect dims.

www.comp.co.uk/flash.htm or

www.imagewheels.co.uk/pages/contact.html will make you a nice set.

The first thing to upgrade is the driver. The nice thing about this is that it is good fun, doesn't load your insurance and transfers to any car you drive. £1000 won't buy you a significant performance increase, but it will buy you a fair chunk of track time and training.
