TVRs — the chariot of unimaginative City boys
Discussion
It's different for the sexes
A girl looks cool driving a TVR, whereas a man does not. A girl looks cool in a Mitsubishi Evo, a man does not. A girl looks cool in a Smart Roadster, a man does not. Sadly, though, it doesn’t work the other way round. There are no cars that girls don’t look cool in but men do.
Actually I think blokes look cool driving tivs. Well most do, I suppose there will be exceptions as with everything else.

FFS, it was co-written by the Morgan-driving dwarf. His alleged appeal to the ladies (and other men, allegedly) has probably gone to his head.
Hammond! It's not because of your Morgan! They just want to sit you on their knee and burp you!BossCerbera said:

Saw two women in a white Sunbeam Tiger at Le Mans last year doing wheel spins on mad Friday around Arnage corner. They were both in their mid 30's, and quite pretty, but you wouldn't have paid that much attention had you passed them in the street. However to see them hooning around in a pretty v8 classic made them two of the sexiest women I think I've ever seen!

Wasn't it voted gay car of the year for the past couple of years?

Call me naive, but do people really buy TVR's because of how they perceive they will be viewed? If so, and if indeed TVR have a marketing strategy, they need to move away from fashion-led buyers IMHO.
And I did used to be an unimaginative city type, although "boy" may be stretching things a bit. I preferred the term merchant banker.

That article really p%$$ed me off.
My response, sent to the Times, was:
"When Hammond the Hamster has finally disowned every british made car on every show and article he has participated in, and turns around to find to his immense surprise that he is no longer either wanted or needed in this country, perhaps he would care to emigrate to the birthplace of the foreign cars he continually waxes so lyrical about.
In particular, the reference to TVR's "Same story, unfortunately, with TVRs — the chariot of unimaginative City boys" is nothing short of a cretinous generalisation with no foundation whatsoever.
Somewhere in the gross furniture of what possibly constitutes his mind, he must realise that you can only trolley out the same trash a few times before it bores the audience to death.
Get someone who really believes in cars to write articles, not this half man, half idiot."
And the response from the Times was:
"Thank you for e-mailing 'Cool Car'.
Unfortunately, due to the volume of e-mails we can't reply individually

Ah well, suppose I got it off my chest.
But god help the little rat if I do meet him.

There is some truth in that article though.
