Hi, back again.
Now planning on looking at a 3.0L at a dealer.
What if any mods should I be looking for.
Does the 3.0L have the same problems as the 2.5
ie ECU mod, cooling mod etc.
Many thanks for your help.

Depends what you mean by cooling mods. My GTO3 had a change of radiator "as a precaution" a coup,e fo years ago. was arranged FOC via the dealer. I doubt that many early 3's are still out there without having had the upgrade.

Only very early 3's are at risk of having the Marelli ECU AFAIK.
If the front fans are mounted on a shroud instead of directly on the rad, then it has had the cooling mod.

Mine's a fairly early 3, and had the original MBE ECU (got the newer MBE in there now though).

The original ECU's were made by Magneti Marelli not MBE as far as I know.

Noble were off them onto the MBEs on the 2.5's before the 3 was released AFAIK?

"Original MBE" as opposed to the subsequent MBE they started using after IYSWIM. Sorry, that wasn't particularly clear.

Joust - not sure when they ditched the MM for MBE. Does ring a bell that there were some 2.5s on MBE though.

When I blew up the first engine it got replaced with a MBE system that was "standard" on the 2.5's at that time if that helps?
