any owners here ? followed one down the M11 today, think it was a Mantis, and thought it was a fine looking machine and wondered what they went like. If the chap involved catches this, do you live in Royston?

Apache Do you go to the CAMBS club meet in Holywell (sp)? Sure I saw your car there a couple of weeks back. I was parked next to it in my red 500 when the Herts club came to visit last month.

Nighmare, not looked under your bonnet for some thime then! Well, it should be a 4.6l, 32v, 4 ohc, hand built Ford Mustang Cobra engine. If you have overlooked the supercharger (!), it is a Votex unit feeding a massive water/air, chargecooler. On the rolling road, mine produced 480 bhp at the flywheel. Don't tell anyone on the yahoo.cerberagroup; in two sessions so far no-one has managed more than 340 bhp.

I looked at a Mantaray when I was looking for a TVR. I went for the Chimaera purely because I've always lusted after a TVR. The Mantis and Mantaray are nice cars esp the Mantis spider (the softtop version), and damn quick also. There was a Marcos dealer here in MK that only lasted about 6 months (good, because the sales force were arseholes who hadn't a clue about Marcos). They had a lovely purple Mantis quad cam for sale at about £36K, which for a 6 month old car is good, you don't see that price for Cerberas (like for like a Cerbera and Mantis are in the same league). Had the misfortune to watch Carnage on telly this morning (Bravo I think - I was channel surfing). Had a review of the Mantis, unfortunatley it was another nail in the coffin type review done by some silly tart comparing the performance to a 'cossie' - stupid cow. This leads to the common TG type thread about decent car programs on telly, unless of course you're a spotty 17 year old twat who drives around in a customized Saxo with a stereo system that costs more than the car. Rant over, Still fancy a Marcos one day, particularly because there's so few of them, Oh and of course they're British - hurrah!! Steve

I've seen that show, absolute rubbish. You are quite right, in every review they compare it to the Ford Cossi like its the best sports car in the world. They did it to the Exige the other day. Carnage is the program for Tw*ts, half the program is dedicated to stereos the other to cars that are "souped up" remember a 4" exhaust bolted to the back of an xr3i makes it a sports car

The Mantis on 'Carnage' was my old car (yellow S500 BHP), as I now live 2000 miles away I did not see the filming but was told she nearly reached 30 mph...

Brian, You have my sympathy; 1) For no-longer owning such a fine car. 2) To add insult to injury, by some daft bint trying to drive it. If it had been Tiff , well, thats another question!! Steve

I actually saw carnage when they did the Tuscan.. Apparantly, the tuscan is not too slow ( same bint I reckon ) but it did blow yer hair about too much with the roof off !!! It was a great show to watch to take the p**s out of... Saying that, is there ANY decent TV show out there for PetrolHeads now ? Edited by Jason F on Sunday 26th August 16:15

I would agree with that, Carnage is worth watching if want to laugh at the hot hatch fraternity with there airfix body kits and £5K stereo systems that still have a cassette head unit! - duh
