Rocks, sand and gravel

Has anybody come up with a solution to keep rocks/sand/gravel from being thrown up off the front tires and going everywhere? After each drive I seem to have collected half the road in the steering rack compartment, along with the area under the electrical panels.

Yes, I have extra alloy panels to close of the sides, where the steering rack arms extend out through the chassis to the hubs and also extra fibreglass moulded into the top of the clip. I did this for the reasons you mention but even now stuff still manages to make its way past, but a lot, lot less than normal.

I have built an entire garden retaining wall with the gravel I pick up!

Ok, Ok, You can see some of what I have done on my site http://pb3.mysite.wanadoo-members.co. under the "Fresh Air Ducting" page, this shows the extra fibreglass. I will have to take a photo of the metalwork as I don't have anything that clearly shows it; later.

Finally! Here is a picture looking at the steering box section, you can just make out the extra alloy panel. But basically it fills the hole, it is curved at the bottom to allow access to the wishbone bolts etc, but you will see what needs to be done to make it fit if you do something similar.
