Discussion
i was thinking of fitting a techics turbo from a capri to my s1,i was told it will make her run to lean and could burn out the valves and i would need to change the fuel injection and ecu possibbly the loom, although it would be ok in an s3. has anybody ever fitted one, would it make alot of difference?
Thanks

I would recommend you speak to Turbo Technics in Northampton, there a good bunch and will happily give you advice and discuss how they used it in the capri.
If it worked in a 2.8 capri i cant see why it wouldnt work in an S, apart from the manifolds and therefore where you plumb it in.
Let us know how you get on

Very helpfully chaps. www.caprisport.com they deal with ford capri's and they have fitted 2.9's and v8's which they made manifolds to fit.
i ve done some digging into this , seems its not a big job on the 2.9 just fit the turbos and intercooler some repluming and customer downpipes remap ignition and away we go, but the 2.8 capri engine has mechanical fuel injection and the bosch k type ignition which connot be remapped, so a new distributor only made for technics capri a technics turbo kit which is no longer made and hard to source seems to be the only way, seems a shame and not cost effective to break a capri turbo just to get 200bhp from a s1
