hi there, lovely electrical question!...............

just about finished restoring a 1773 mini mk3. im having problems with the dim/dip part of the headlights. i have sidelights, and dipped lights. when i switch to high beam the high beam light on the dash works but everything goes out other than the sides..... follow?

also nothing happens when you pull the stalk to flash.......

i thought that it could be the dim/dip relay but do you think i can find the bloody thing!!, where abouts is it, i thought under the dash on the drivers side. thats where it should be i assume..........

also, the fuse, inline, its in the engine bay on the fire wall, passanger side yes?

its a two fuse fusebox and these are ok, everything else works any ideas?

Cheers Rob

Check all the earth connections thoroughly, especially the ones that run behind the top of the grill. If that makes no difference, then it might be the column switchgear. HTH.

Thats 'cause it doesn't have one!!

The column stalk simply switches the power between dip and main. Since the warning light works I would suspect that the fault lies in the wires between the column switch and the headlights, you'll just have to carefully trace it thro'

Yes, but that has nothing to do with the headlights.
