Well, not really a Mini adventure, more like an epic

I finally managed to spend some time on my long running Mini project over the weekend. Got the boot lid on, how fiddly is that seal? Hurt my fingers a lot getting that on, also got the door locks fitted and the bonnet on as well. Next port of call is rebuilding the interior which was stripped out for welding. I have found most of the bits so hoping to get this sorted this week.

Then the next big thing to do is get the motor up and running again, it hasn't run for at least 4 years, and it was a freshly built lump with new pistons and big ends. Last time I tried to run it up I couldn't get any oil pressure so I had to strip it down and prime the oil pump, are there any techniques I can use to avoid this? Thicker oil maybe?

Anyway the show is back on the road (almost). I'm hoping to get it MOT'd soon and grab the number plate for my other car. Not sure what I am going to eventually do with the Mini as I'm planning on slotting a Caterham in it's place next year, it may get sold, or it may get broken up

Work is progressing nicely, I spent most of the weekend on it Got the dash back in and fitted the driver's seat, then had a bash at the 'lectrics.

I managed to turn the engine over on the starter without the plugs in and got oil pressure the only problem is that I can't get it to turn over quick enough with the plugs in to fire. Do I need a new starter motor or is it something more serious than that?
