V8S will not idle and cuts out

Rough idle, engine shakes when cold and warm and then cuts out, also will not rev somtimes.

Was running fine the other day!!!

I thought it maybe the stepper motor which was black when I removed it to be cleaned, but still no joy. After I cleaned it I got smoke from in front of the radiator - from I think the air filter ??? Smoke stopped and on restarting not smoke but still rough idle, cuts out and does not rev smoothly.

Something wrong. Sorry, not very helpful but those symptoms aren't enough to nail it down, there are loads of fuel/ignition faults that could cause those symptoms. Is it coming due for a service? If so, bring it forward a bit and get your TVR specialists to fix this while they have it - it may be that servicing will fix the problem anyway.

Not due for service but I think it can go in anyway, giving up on this one, it will make it the 2 miles down the road so in it goes.

Not quite given up, cleaned the stepper motor was very dirty, and could do with a new washer. Also cleaned the throttle control inside the air intake (all black as well).

Too late to try starting because of noise so will see if we have a runner in the morning.

One thing - in the bible it shows a bleed screw, but mine is sealed off no whole let alone screw also which pipe is the air bypass ( the pipe the bible says to ristrict when setting the bleed screw ) ???

The bleed screw is fitted with an anti-tamper cover. The bypass hose is the hose which goes from the throttle body to the input on the stepper motor housing.

Yes! She idles very smooth now, not had chance to take out but looking good. - Took a little starting. - I think there must have been about tens years of dirt in there which has now been cleaned by me or blown out the engine when it started!
