Dash Top Speaker Sizes

Hi Guys

Does anyone know what size speakers fit in the dash are on the 996 model?

I assume a 6x4 would go straight in, but I am looking to put a set of components so ideally that would mean a 4" and a 1" tweeter, but I have a feeling that only a 3" and 1" might fit

can anyone help?

The chaps at SQPlus (www.sqplus.com) can probably help you, they've done a custom 996 installation (www.sqplus.com/install.html?carID=60). Or give Prestige-Audio a shout (www.prestige-audio.co.uk)

By default there is a 3.5" (approx) speaker in there and no tweeter. If you have one of the upgraded hifi packs you will gain a tweeter and 6" mid bass in the door.

You can squeeze a 4" speaker + tweeter in there but you need to make or buy a baffle to mount them on.

prestige audio (Rickmansworth, J18M25) fitted a set of DL3 way components into the front doors and dash of my 996 cab and the sound was transformed. bear in mind that you will need to installl an amp to get the best out of whatever you fit (my advice is buy a top quality amp off e-bay it'll probably be barely broken in!). What will truly change the sound is the addition of a sub, trust me it really is a revalation.
