Just what were those two to**ers on last night? They tested 5, in their own words, ''town cars'' , and then proceeded to slate them on their drivability on long routes. They are designed for city/town use - not 3 hours jaunts up the M1! No mention of ease of parking, nippyness and all the other things needed for town/city driving. Put the wife and kids in on the school/shopping run and they are probably ideal. Not suprising TG is being dropped after that drivel. Bring back JC I say...at least you could have a laugh! Although VB-H is worth a laugh - what does she think she is doing to all those gear knobs? eek!

They do have a point with saying the Yaris is better all round though. Still I agree that it was a bit crap. The Matiz is just such a bargin, if I was in the market for one of these I would take it and the £1500 saving over a yaris Sparks

It made me laugh that the only rivals to the Caterham SV that they could think of were the Elise and the VX220. Whoever is running that programme obviously doesn't have a passion for cars.

They certainly don't have a passion for research! Same old thing every week. You would think with the amazing diversity of machinery which is currently available that they would be able to avoid pushing the same mass-manufactured dross. PistonHeads TV, Ted?

Top Gear might be crap but remember what the competition is - Men and Mammaries over on Sack-of-Sh*ite TV : "Carnage", "Car Crazy Rio" or whatever. I can't believe I know about this - oh dear!

I used to be one shouting TGs good points, but if I'm honest with myself now, it's all going a bit wonky at the beeb. I've been kidding myself. That test WAS pants, those cars shouldnt be on motorways, and the cronies that buy them as Apache quite rightly said, wont watch TG. I think seeing Tiff in leathers on that Harley has convinced me it's going to the dogs. I still stand by saying that "Drivel" is rubbish. We need a new show, Ted?...

Yep it's official, after several months, years almost, it seems that TG (TV program and magazine) are going to the dogs. Shame really because they used to have such a winning combination: JC's gift of the gab, Tiff's driving ability and VBH's well sort of sex appeal! In fact you can see it's decline in every issue of the program or magazine. Only last month they got their hands on 3 TVR's: Tuscan S, Tamora and revised Chimerea. Surely enough motoring iconery to fill even one of their enormous bibles, but no, 4 pages of TVR and the other 300 devoted to... well i didn't bother reading it!! So what are we left with? Bugger all on the TV i'm afraid but thank goodness for PISTONHEADS and EVO magazine. Between these two i can survive the week intact. For all those who need some proper high-octane input then look no further. Long may they both live. 007 Edited by peas_star on Friday 17th August 22:50

... so what about Pistonheads magazine then Ted? Evo is great right now, but I noticed they'd sold out a major chunk to one of the other publishers (Dennis Publishing?). I wonder if they'll keep up the petrolhead biased content or assimilate it into another CAR Magazine like they did with Performance Car.

if someone took the good bits from ccc and evo then that would just about do it for me! something aimed at the professional with a bit of money to spend on cars and track days but also retaining a bit of humour and a certain element of clubman motorsport. Seriously though, any one now how we get this off the ground, i'd love to write for it and i guess half the people here would, just how do you get a magazine going (and whos cash do we use!) pablo

Got to agree with xMetal, I'm working in Bermuda (which is nice...), but the TV.... All US except BBC World, my TV highlight of the week is Sunday morning when we get a repeat of Top Gear - just about keeps me sane, and thank god for Pistonheads, keeps me in touch with the real world...
