I suspect the price will make this car unatainable for mortals. Impressive none the less.

On the track it may give the Ultima a run.... but then so would an F1 car.

Looks pretty snazzy, but, it there doesn't appear to be much in the way of side impact protection!
It looks as if the passenger is going to have to sit behind...

A nice rendered visual does not a saleable product make.

Judging by the photo of the design team with the CF rolling chassis, I think they've advanced past the drawing board!

The powerplant is the rst-v8 ( www.rst-v8.com ) with or without a super charger, gearbox is a Hewland with a pectal ecu IIRC

No...... Radical already goes that extra distance and that definatelly isn't making the Ultima redundant dispite being in a similar price range.
This will be hugelly more expensive with almost no chance of being a real road car.

Radicals are only road cars if your route doesn't contain anything even beginning to resemble a speed bump - I include large pieces of hardened chewing gum in that!

lol! Call that a seat. Great if you're dating a 6 stone supermodel, but I can't see a passenger wanting to spend more than about 2 mins in it.

Undoubtedly - but there's a loooooooooooong way to go before it can be called a full prototype.

I'm not decrying their efforts, it could be amazing. Just seen so many similar projects before that fail. A shame, but true.

I think the point was that to compare to an Ultima is irrelevant, completely different concepts.

I hope they succeed in their goal, its a very nice concept? 465kg and 480hp thats around 1000bhp per tonne! so I gues they "easely" can break the Ultima GTR record from 0-100-0....in 8+sec?? with good brakes and telling them 0-100 in under 5 sec its possible, but still it had to be done yet...
But they maked a very nice car to start with and when you add some 140kg to make it more road going? its still only around 600kg!! so still a fast blast...And with that low weight its also a blast around the track!
Lovely car to revieuw and from that make a more roadgoing useble version I think!

I think they were designing it as a roadgoing/track-day car in the first place.

i would see it as more of a radical/palmer jag rival than an ultima. the price is very different as is the general point of the car. I think it will depend on the driver round a track. ultimatly will be quicker than anything but you gotta be good to put that power down smoothly and controlably and that might not be easy.

I like it, and I think its not as a radical(thats a open car?) this one has a roof! so its a very special car and a super lightweight, but with a roof! and I think its better and use more modern stuff and is faster then an Ultima, also a bit more expensive but all in reasonable proportions compared to other special cars! don't forget this car when its as showed and talk about is one very special car! when I could choose, I choose it above a Ultima GTR wich I love also!

You are correct Brad - I emailed them to find out some more about the car and they responded as follows:

"We are currently in discussions with potential distributors for the T1
in the US, Japan and China and will inform you as soon as we can. In
the meantime customers who wish to purchase a car can do so and we
shall ship the car direct at the customers cost. The T1 will be street
legal in the UK but not in the US -I will need to check legalisation
for Canada, but it should be possible.

The price is £150,000 GBP and we are currently taking deposits for the
car at £15,000 GBP. The first customer cars are expected to be
delivered in Sept/Oct 2006.

The T1 is a two seater powered by our own version and developed 2.4ltr
V8 which is supercharged. Developing over 480bhp and thus providing
1000bhp per tonne."

Well 150,000 pounds works out to $260,000 USD or $300,000 CDN which is going to need a lot of spousal unit convincing, but it is a very nice machine nonetheless.
A used (lease return) low mileage Carrera GT is now priced in the same ballpark so it has some very worthy competitors to overcome.
I look forward to seeing it developed though, since the concept is so amazingly (racecar) purist - sort of a stripped and percolated ENZO.

It looks awesome.

When they deliver one that I can see, I might buy it. But I wanna see it first. So far all they offer is CAD rendered images. Give me a photo with a driver in it or a happy owner standing by.

But hats off to their designers... its fantastic (and I hope not just in the literal sense of the word).
