Another stepper motor question....

Is the stepper motor used in Chimaera the same as used in a normal landrover, i.e. if I can source one that was meant for a 3.9 disco could I fit straight to my chim?

I replaced mine with a Landrover part, it's been fine.
Sorry I can't confirm the part number.

It's a standard Range Rover 3.9 part, I guess a Disco 3.9 will probably be the same.

Is the stepper motor definitely duff? It's very rare to hear of them failing.

Somewhere between me and the people who sold me my car, we have managed to sheer the thread - have got it out and thread of the plenum seems ok.....

So the stepper is okay except for the thread....

Oh no, I would NEVER do that....nope not me.....I would never be so stupid as to over tighten MY stepper motor....move along now

However - I can confirm it is the same part - Land Ranger Services do them for about £56.

Hmmmm. When I took mine out the sealing washer was knackered. Thinking it was a std LR part I rang local dealer who said they had them in stock. But it was totally different! The pic of the stepper on the micrfiche showed a two bolt flange mounting so I accepted the fact they were different and managed to get a fibre washer at "Plumb Centre".
