Hi everyone

Just spoken to David at Modwise about getting one of the brighter light kits to try and improve the lighting on my S3 so that I have a half decent chance of seeing where I'm going.

He doesn't stock the kits and so needs to make them up, only slight problem is that he doesn't have the measurements. He has made one up for a S'er in here apparantly and suggested that I ask if whoever that was is still and around and whether or not they still have the measurements.

Many thanks,
Matt

Matt,

It might be worth contacting Mel-S3 - I believe he's done this: www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?t=27385&f=11&h=0&hw=modwise

If you're going to place an order would you mind dropping me an email via the forum beforehand - I could do with one too and it might be easier for ModWise if they do 2 kits at the same time!

Thanks!

Jon

Mine has the modwise kit on it, with the main beam and spots on it looks like something from close encounter.

Simon (psychobert) had them put on, so no doubt he could provide you with the details. I drive down some dark windy roads on the way to work (as well as a good old motorway blat) and they are as good as a modern car.....with the modwise kit on, otherwise they are like candles.

Matt,

In case it helps persuade David to kit up for these i was going to
send for one of these myself. Let me know if you get the measurements
sorted out and i will order at the same time.

Yup, fitted the kit myself and with that and the exhaust, I regularly caused people in much faster cars to get out of my way when on a mission at night..

Unfortunately, I didn't keep measurements of the kit as I thought at the time I'd not part with the car..

That said, Silverback and I should be able to work something out as I know what the original wiring is and what the new kit was. We'll get our heads together and get back to you..

Oh, and I'll have another kit please for the V8

Psychobert, it would be great if you and Mike could sort the measurements out so we can look into getting something together for David over at Modwise.

I'm happy to organise a larger order, I'll definately be getting a kit made up so will track demand for extra kits through this thread..... so register interest here. Will confirm with people nearer the time of ordering.

Honestly can't remember the cost, and it was a couple of years ago so will be a bit more now anyway. It wasn't significant, and was a bloody good buy. Took me about an hour to fit and was pretty simple all in all.

When I spoke to David he didnt seem to think that a kit would be anymore than £50. Soon as I have a price from him I'll post back.

I'd be interested dependent on price. It's about time I see where I'm going!

It's easy to do chaps.

I posted on this subject a while ago and gave a detailed account of what you need to do and why.

Have a search for the thread.

Matt

Sorry not technical to give you the dimensions you are after
BUT
Silly idea - what about sorting something for SCH4 - display kit or whatever. Having just come home from a quick late pm blast with the usual 'glow-worms'on I would buy an upgrade on the spot !

Who am I? sorry - see newcomers hello thread

regards

George
