I love Kiwi pragmatism!

How many skeletal fly-infested tots will die if the food agencies decline it?

And yes, if I was on the point of dying from hunger, I'd be more than happy to eat dogfood)

I love the way that someone is taking it upon themselves to complain on behalf of starving children. Maybe they should be given the choice between starving or not?

My mum used to eat Pedigree Chum dog biscuits every so often, and that was out of choice - we would have given her proper food if she wanted it.

Frankly if you look at what's in dogfood compared to the McDonald's diet chavs seem to live on the dogfood is far better.

Not an awful lot different to some tramping/mountaineering rations.

That, and a bit of No.8 Wire will fix'em.

Ah... Now there is a popular rumour, vigourously denied by McDs themselves of course, that when McDonalds first tried to open a restaurant in NZ, they applied to the NZ Meat Board (who classify meat quality and look after the export market etc.) for the grade of meat they wanted to use in their burger patties. Apparently their application was refused as, due to the high standards and quality of NZ meat, as far as the NZ Meat Board were concerned, the meat McDs wanted to use was classified as dog food and not fit for human consumption, despite many other contries being happy to let McDs feed the population with that grade of meat.

This doesn't mean that you can just go and eat NZ dog food, but it would easily be able to tailor the ingredients for human consumption, as in many other countrues around the world, that quality of meat is classified as fit for humans. According to the NZ Meat Board, most of you are eating dog food anyway.

I would imagine what the factory is producing isnt much different to high-energy biscuits , just that they're using a dog biscuit production line to produce them.

BTW , Kiwi meat is MUCH better than British meat ( ..... and I mean beef , not the cute flightless birds )

I don't really think the africans should be debating a source of bacteria free human nutrients. ing about with the kite marks and ISO numbers is just ridiculous. Personally, I've eaten some barely edible shit in restaurants over there and would have jumped at the chance of eating a tin of dog food. Maggot ridden fish anyone? (central mauritania)

'tis true.

I knew the family who opened the first few franchises in NZ. The other issue was the cheese. For many years the special American 'plastic' cheese was not used and the real full fat Kiwi style cheese was used.

BTW - Those cute little Kiwi (yes that is plural, no 's' required) will rip your spleen out with their claws if you don't hold them right. Not remotely blood-thirsty just not all that happy being held.

me too. If you asked someone who was truly starving whether they would rather have biscuits or nothing I think we know what their choice would be!

As Wolves Wanderer pointed out it's not the Africans themselves it's the middlemen, aka charities, who are doing it.
