Thanks for all your help about trackers - i've got it sorted and Friday(3rd Feb) started using my car to go back and for to work( as you do!)But I've already hit snags (only 3600 miles on clock) - my speedo is not working and there's a grinding noise from the front left hand side!!!!! Can't get it booked in anywhere until next Monday with no guarantees when they can fix it. Anyone know of a good Noble mechanic other than Cwmbran in the South Wales & Bristol area? - Can't stand the thought of not driving it after waiting this long for it......... Mandybex
Speedo sensor can often be effected by water. The sensor is on the RHF hub behind the disc. A Road Angel or similar st system will give you an alternative speed reading.
I had a rear hub nut come loose, which gave a scraping noise that sounded like it was the front. If you pop the wheel centre cap off you can see the locking ring and paint mark. Check if the nut has moved. You can tighten temporary with suitable socket and bar until you get to a suitable Noble dealer.

Water can penetrate the speed sensor iand you should avoid spraying water onto or into anywhere that there are bits and pieces that should not get too wet! It can be dried out with a hair dryer or as I did, it can be reset and fixed closer to the hub so as to reduce the water ingress chances. Also note that the mileometer also stops when the spedo does and this is not good for recording accurate mileage so should be fixed asap.
The grinding noise, as long as you've not accidentally hit a granny and been dragging her zimmer frame around for days, could be the brakes needing a good hard "clean". If the noise is there when you use the brakes then its likely to be this. Find a nice long safe bit of road and do 3-4 emergency stops from 70+mph. Don't lock up but press as hard as you can and it clears out all the crud from the disc surface and the pads.
This sorted my grinding noises very effectivly in the early days. Now thay get used properly on track once every 2-3 months, its no longer a problem.
These are some of the handfull of problems that these cars do have and they (although annoying) to a certain extent have to be accepted. They are easily fixed or remedied and once you have understood the few niggles then your grin will return to full glory!!
