Antonov 225 - Wow!
Discussion
Saw a program (Superstructures) about this last night on Discovery I think, what a beast! They only made one and then mothballed it for 10 years before resurrecting it in the late 90's. Just looked for a bit more info on it and found these:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-225
One of them says a second 225 was being constructed - does anyone know if this was finished or if they made more.
Anyone actually seen it in the flesh?

Was playing golf about two years ago and a 124 flew overhead on it's approach to Dublin. It was huge and if it's anything to go by, the 225 must be truely massive. Would love to see one.
It mentioned the 124 quite a lot in the program. 150 tonne payload and able to still land on an unpaved runway!
Can't quite remember the details but I think it also say the 225 was designed in something like 3 years!! (although it drew a lot of influence from the 124)
This was the ealier thread: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=226172&f=141&h=0

I think it was last seem at East Midlands airport a couple of months back, I seem to recall a thread on it.
